We Are The People
Music History Is Being Made In Seattle...

It seems that not since 1788 when America’s first composer of secular music, Francis Hopkinson, wrote “Seven Songs for the Harpsichord”, and dedicated it to the nation’s first president, George Washington, has there been a complete album written for and dedicated to a president or presidential candidate.

If you would like to contribute to this historic album while helping to augment Obama's candidacy (while directly benefitting Katrina survivors) please consider donating to the album produced by Bergevin Brothers, featuring the Total Experience Gospel Choir, Matt Cameron and other Seattle artists. The album will contain the internet hit "Fired Up Ready to Go" (one of Barack Obama's six Youtube Favorites) and other 2008 Obama-campaign-centric songs. The energy of the 2008 campaign is amplified and captured in this album, to be on the third anniversary of Katrina August 29, 2008 in Denver at the Democratic Convention! Please spread the word.

Inspired by Barack Obama and his supporters we believe the momentum that is transforming lives around the world needs an inspirational sound track. "Seven Songs For America" captures the spirit of America during these history-making times. Produced by Jon and Joe Bergevin (best known as Bergevin Brothers Music) with production assistance by Matt Cameron of Pearl Jam, the album features original songs performed by Seattle's Pastor Pat Wright and her Total Experience Gospel Choir.  "Fired Up, Ready to Go" was the first song inspired by Barack Obama's candidacy and was followed by "Rise Up, Daylight Breaks." In response to the tremendous outpouring of support with comments like "This should be the campaign song" and "Where can I buy this amazing music," those involved agreed to expand the project leading to "Seven Songs for America."

In honor and recognition of this spirit, all proceeds from 'Seven Songs For America' album profits will go to support Pastor Pat Wright's "Seattle Artists" foundation to rebuild the lives and homes of Katrina victims in Mississippi and Louisiana. Pastor Wright was honored for her work on behalf of Katrina survivors when she was named an ABC 2007 person of the year for her ministry.

The profits from the album sales will go to Pastor Pastor Patrinell Wrights Seattle Artists Foundation created to help re-build the Katrina torn gulf coast.

Edith Childs (Fired Up Originator)
Our story started with Edith Childs in Greenwood, South Carolina.  She has been a good friend to us during this process and we are thankful for her help and advice.  She is pictured below with Barack at a rally in Greenwood and with Jon at the Democratic National Convention, where they had the good fortune to meet.

Here are some pictures we took while attending the Democratic National Convention in Denver 2008.
